Alfarnate's cherry picking season started this week, two weeks later than normal, due to the prolonged period of cold weather and rain this spring.
There is speculation that productivity will be lower this year as a result of the weather.
Cherry picking continues until August in Alfarnate, where there are 50 hectares of cherry trees, producing around 60,000 kilos of fruit per year.
