Controversy over parking fines in residential areas of Vélez-Málaga and Torre del Mar

The unexplained fines are believed to be related to an ongoing dispute between the town hall and the local police force

Around 30 cars parked on the pavements of residential areas in Vélez-Málaga and Torre del Mar, including La Mata and Viña Málaga, were issued with unexplained parking fines last week.

Mayor Antonio Ferrer, who lives in La Mata, said that he had not given orders to issue the fines. The incident is believed to be related to an ongoing dispute between the town hall and the local police force.
