The El Chorro area boasts a new open-air feature designed to enhance the sporting experience.

The via ferrata (a protected climbing route supported by a steel cable and iron rungs) is 650 metres long, with a 250 metre incline.

Though it has been in use since January, only recently has the provincial government opened the climbing route to the public, after rigorous safety checks.

However it still recommends visitors to attempt the route in the company of a specialist active tourism firm.
