Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice is finalising preparations for the annual Walkathon event on Sunday in Benalmádena.
The charity walk's goal is to raise funds so that the organisation can continue assisting more than 1,400 people with cancer and other advanced non-curable illnesses each year. The walk, which sets off from outside the Sunset Beach Club Hotel at 10.30am, was officially launched on Tuesday at an event attended by the mayor, Víctor Navas.
The hospice charity has also announced its annual Sunflower Campaign to raise funds and awareness for the importance of the services that the hospice provides.
The campaign will take place from 3 June to 8 July, when awareness tables and volunteers will be conveniently located at popular locations around the province of Malaga.
Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer can email sol@cudeca.org or call +34 663 265 948. During the campaign, a hundred Cudeca volunteers will take to the streets to raise awareness and offer sunflowers (the symbol of International Palliative Care).
