The National Police are investigating a shootout in Fuengirola marina early on Friday morning after two men were taken to Costa del Sol Hospital with various gunshot wounds, according to sources.
The same sources say that the shootout occurred at around 1.45am, following a fight in a bar in the area. A number of police patrols rushed to the area after hearing the shots, but the perpetrators had fled the scene by the time they arrived.
However, a few minutes later, police received reports of two men who had arrived at a private hospital in the area with multiple gunshot wounds. The men, 30 and 36, were then transferred to the Costa del Sol Hospital.
One man had various wounds in the neck area, while the other had injuries in his upper limbs. None of the injuries are considered life-threatening.
The vehicle in which the men had been travelling has been seized while investigations continue. The initial hypothesis is that what occurred was a settling of scores.
