It may be the middle of spring but many of the higher peaks across Malaga province were covered in snow early on Saturday morning.

On Marbellas iconic La Concha mountain, at just 1,215 metres, snow was able to settle, creating a particularly picturesque image for those enjoying the coast.

Land above 1,500 metres in the Almijara and Alhama mountain ranges were also covered in a white blanket while snow at La Maroma (2,068m), in the Sierra de la Tejeda, could be seen from the city of Malaga.

In the east of the province, Navachica, the tallest peak of the Almijara range in Nerja, also received the unseasonal weather.
