The town of Torremolinos is the eighth most popular destination for British tourists in Europe, according to a survey undertaken by Lastminute.com. The resort is the sixth most popular in Spain, and the only Andalusian destination in the Top 10. The authors said that Spain is currently very “fashionable” for British holidaymakers, with only Albufeira in Portugal and Nice in France ranking above it. The top reasons for Brits to choose to visit the Costa del Sol were the excellent weather, the friendliness of the Spanish, the food and the cultural diversity. Leisure activities, the party atmosphere and the opportunity to save money were other considerations.
