The legal situation with the Costa del Sol racecourse in Mijas, which has not hosted any horse races for some years, is complicated and still ongoing.

However, Mijas councillors José Carlos Martín and Nuria Rodríguez hope to bring new life to the facility; they announced last week that a new space has been created for equine therapy.

Workers have been tasked with repurposing one of the stables on-site for this activity. The new space will be able to accommodate six horses. With these new facilities, children and families will be able to participate in all types of weather, said Rodríguez, who in the past has highlighted the benefits of this activity for people with a variety of disabilities.
