Thursday 8 March is International Women's Day, which has been celebrated every year since 1914. Its origins can be dated back to 1908, when 15,000 women marched through New York City demanding shorter hours, better pay and voting rights. The movement is now present in over 100 countries and in some places it is an official holiday. The aim is to celebrate, respect and appreciate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
The theme for International Women's Day this year is #PressforProgress and two major and influential groups, Costa Women and 1230 The Women's Company, are joining forces and organising two special events for businesswomen in Marbella. The first is a free open networking evening at Our Space on Wednesday 7 March from 6pm to 8pm.
On Thursday 8th, the sixth International Women's Day Conference will take place at Andalucía Lab in Marbella. This is a full-day event with a mix of interviews, speakers, stands and networking and is presented asthe “must attend” event of 2018.
The nine international speakers will be talking about topics relevant to businesswomen such as the effective use of social media, attracting the right clients, creating products and building a business which fits your lifestyle.
