Fewer than 12 per cent of dogs' DNA registered

  • The council is trying to clean up the town

According to a census carried out in Rincón de la Victoria recently, less than 12 per cent of the estimated 10,040 dogs in Rincón de la Victoria have had their DNA collected by vets in the town.

The local law, which was passed last year, obliges dog owners to register their pets so that dog faeces can be linked to the animal in an effort to clean up the town.

However, by the extended deadline of 1 January 2018, the vast majority of owners had failed to comply with the bylaw.
