Weekend Beach festival organisers along with the deputy mayor for Torre del Mar, Jesús Pérez Atencia, used Fitur to announce that internationally renowned DJ, David Guetta, would be performing at this year's Weekend Beach festival.

The announcement was made at around 12.30pm on Thursday at the Costa del Sol stand at Spain's annual international tourism fair in Madrid.

Guetta, who was born in France, is one of the best known commercial dance DJs in the world and has sold over 45 million records in his career. His biggest hits include When Love Takes Over, which won him his first Grammy. In 2013 Billboard named When Love Takes Over its number one dance-pop collaboration of all time and When Love Takes Over, Gettin' Over You and Sexy Bitch have all reached number one in the UK charts. Guetta's performance at the Weekend Beach festival will form part of his 2018 world tour.

The festival, which is celebrating five years this year, has also recently confirmed American rock/punk band The Offspring and Jamaican ska and reggae musician, Jimmy Cliff. The five-day festival will start on Wednesday 4 July 2018.
