Torremolinos has put an end to a month-long dispute with local artisans, who accused the town hall of positioning street markets in squares with a lower footfall and favouring businesses from other towns.
Several of them had also previously complained that the institutional neglect of local art had meant that they had had to find work in other towns.
The town hall has now announced that it will allow the installation of market stalls in Plaza Unión Europea, one of the town's most central squares.
More than fifty local craftspeople will sell local hand-made products on Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 6pm.
The president of Atenea, the cultural association that represents the artists, Andrea Zucas, said he was very satisfied with the agreement.
