Prosecutors in Malaga have called for a man who allegedly attempted to throw a police officer from a bridge in the city to be given 17 years in prison. The events took place in July 2016. One officer was on his way home from work when the accused, who recognised him from previous incidents, hit him in the mouth with a beer bottle causing cuts to the face. A second officer, who was passing on a motorcycle, chased the assailant and attempted to detain him but suffered blows and bites, before the man dragged him to the railings and attempted to throw him off the bridge.
