Malaga port hotel investors reveal three hotel groups are interested in the project

  • The project has overcome some important initial planning hurdles in 2017 and will continue with the planning permission process into 2018

The investors behind a planned tower housing a luxury hotel in Malaga's port area said this week that three hotel groups have expressed an interest in running the building once complete.

Representatives of Andalusian Hospitality II, for the Qatari Al Bidda group, said while meeting the city's mayor and port officials on Wednesday that the hotel chains are interested, “because they consider that this city is key in the Mediterranean and clearly on the up in Spain from a tourism, cultural and economic point of view”.

They went on to say that they hope the building work could begin as soon as possible. The project has overcome some important initial planning hurdles in 2017 and will continue with the planning permission process into 2018.
