Nerja becomes third beach-fine town
  • Following in the footsteps of Torrox and Algarrobo, Nerja town hall will impose fines of 30 euros for anyone caught 'reserving' areas for an extended period of time

Nerja has become the third town in the Axarquía to implement fines for 'beach hoggers'.

Following in the footsteps of Torrox and Algarrobo, Nerja town hall will impose fines of 30 euros for anyone caught 'reserving' areas on the beach with objects such as chairs or parasols and then leaving them there.

Making fires and sand sculptures on the beach without prior permission from the town hall will also be banned under the by-law, which is expected to come into force before summer 2018.
