Vélez-Málaga town hall unveiled last week computer images and a video for a pier in Torre del Mar. The video, as well as details of the project, were revealed during a press conference where councillors announced that the walkway will measure 67 metres in length and have a viewing point at the end.

They confirmed that it is designed to be “fully accessible” and will be “made using sustainable materials.” The director of the environmental aspects of the project, Alberto Jiménez Madrid, said that the pier is also designed to, “respect coastal dynamics and the movement of sediments.”

Tourism councillor, Jesús Pérez Atencia, said the pier would be “a new tourist attraction as well as being the only one in Andalucía.” He added that it would set the town apart from other Spanish holiday resorts.
