  • Although the lack of rain has been noticeable, the countryside of the Valle del Genal still maintains this magical halo

It took a little longer to come this year, but the season of ochre, brown, copper and gold has arrived in the Valle del Genal. This corner of Serranía de Ronda, the biggest chestnut producer in Andalucía, hosts a beautiful natural phenomenon attracting hundreds of visitors every year.

Before losing their leaves the chestnut trees paint the landscape in beautiful autumn colours. Although the lack of rain has been noticeable, the countryside of the Valle del Genal still maintains this magical halo.

Chestnut trees occupy about 4,000 hectares of the Sierra de las Nieves. Many companies, like RF Natura, offer guided tours of this autumnal landscape.
