The parent-teacher organisation (AMPA) at the Augusto Santiago Bellido de Vélez, otherwise known as Reñidero primary school in Vélez-Málaga, have threatened to suspend classes until the centre is rid of fleas.

On Monday president of the AMPA, Irene Peña, said that, if nothing is done in the next week, they would stop classes and start to protest. AMPA believes that the problem is due to dog owners using an area of wasteland next to the school and that the fleas have come from the animals.

It says that the town hall has so far failed to act.
