Volunteer divers clean up Marbella's main marina
  • In just two hours they dredged up over a tonne of polluting debris

A group of volunteer divers took to the waters of central Marbella's Puerto Deportivo marina last Saturday in an initiative to clean up rubbish from the seabed.

In just two hours they dredged up with their hands over a tonne of polluting debris, including two vehicle batteries, a rubbish container, a shopping trolley, two mobile phones and a skateboard. All the recovered items were handed in to Marbella council.

In total 51 people took part, 36 in the water and 15 coordinating on land.
