Coín appeals fine for not purifying water

  • The mayor has described the 150,000 euro fine as "hypocrisy"

Fernando Fernández, mayor of Coín, has slammed the Junta's decision to fine the municipality for not meeting water purification standards. He describes the 150,000-euro fine as “hypocrisy”, given that the Bajo Guadalhorce water purification plant, a Junta-managed project, is still under construction: “Everyone knows that we don't have a treatment plant because the Junta is in the process of building it.” Alhaurín el Grande has also received a fine.
