President of AENA resigns one day after agreement signed

AENA president José Manuel Vargas has announced that he is stepping down on 15 October for “personal reasons.” It is not yet known who will replace him.

Vargas took up the position in early 2012 after being appointed by the then Minister of Transport, Ana Pastor.

He has not revealed his plans for the future, other than to say he will "do something", possibly in the private sector.
