The roundabout that marks the end of the Avenida de Andalucía, the avenue running from Parque Miramar to the Coín road in the Las Lagunas area of Mijas Costa, has been chosen as the place to permanently fly the rainbow flag in Mijas. The roundabout has been dedicated to diversity and has been decorated with large multicolour letters with the word Diversidad.

Mayor of Mijas, Juan Carlos Maldonado, unveiled the new identity last week in a ceremony attended by local representatives of all political parties, residents groups and members of the LGTBI community. This is the second public space dedicated in a similar way on the Costa after Malaga city opened its Jardines 28 de junio gardens.
