Friends and family of a young boy in need of specialist treatment to reverse epilepsy took part in a fundraising event titled 'Todo con Matías' recently in Arroyo de la Miel.
Matías Bravo Benítez suffers from severe autism and epilepsy and his health has declined over the past two years, so well-wishers are now trying to raise enough money to send him to Barcelonas Teknon Hospital, where he will receive specialist treatment that could reduce his daily seizures.
Volunteers installed a stand selling bric-a-brac and second hand items in the Calle Blas Infante in Arroyo de la Miel last Friday. They also laid an adhesive strip the length of the street to encourage passers-by to leave a one euro coin to help boost the funds for the treatment, which will cost in excess of 22,000 euros.
The fundraising day was attended by Mayor of Benalmádena, Víctor Navas. Those wishing to donate can visit the Facebook page - Todo con Matías.
