Casares plans to build new public mortuary

Councillors have ruled out building a crematorium as it would be "unviable"

The town hall in Casares has identified a plot of land in the Peñón Rodado area as site of the villages new mortuary.

Officials are in talks with companies in the funeral industry about building and running it.

Currently wakes are held in a not ideal hall nearby, which is also used for council meetings, as temporary refrigeration has to brought in.

Councillors have ruled out building a crematorium, as well, as it would not be viable.
