Details of the second Torre del Mar International Air Show were unveiled by mayor of Vélez-Málaga, Antonio Ferrer and Deputy Mayor, Jesús Antencia, last week. The event, which will take place on 28, 29 and 30 July, will see 40 aircraft flying over the Torre del Mar coast, including participation from the Turkish Stars, the Spanish F18 fighter jet and Belgian and French air forces.
On Friday and Saturday residents and visitors will be able to see the various planes practicing for the main event, which will be on Sunday. Atencia said at a press conference last week that the 2016 air show brought, “100 per cent occupancy in the town’s hotels and a huge economic impact.”
Organisers of this year’s event have said that “safety and security are the priority” and that they are collaborating with Spanish armed forces.
