Late-night graffiti vandal at the English Cemetery in Malaga caught red-handed

Police have arrested a 19-year-old Malaga youth for allegedly causing damage to a historic monument after being caught spray painting a wall alongside the city’s English Cemetery.

Two vandals were caught in the act at around 1.45am on Wednesday morning after a local person called police. Realising that the police had seen them, the two youths dropped their spray cans and fled the scene. One managed to escape while another was detained on the seafront.

A third person, also 19 years old and spotted near Hotel Miramar, appeared to have been acting as a lookout.

Police are still searching for the other, escaped vandal with the help of CCTV camera images.
