Lux Mundi Torre del Mar welcomed a number of new faces to its open day last Friday. Around 150 people attended the event, which was held in order to show people the numerous activities organised by the centre.

Volunteer, Sue Bell, said, “We have seen a lot of new faces. The morning was particularly busy and quite a few Spanish people have come too.”

The centre is particularly keen to attract more Spanish users as it points out that it is not “just for foreigners but for everyone to integrate”.

Christine Grimsdale and Joy Buckle, who were looking after the découpage stall, said, “It’s a wonderful place. We have fun with the activities but it’s really the friendship and support which is important.” Other activities on show included painting, photography, excursions, a German group and prayer group.
