Customers at a Frigiliana restaurant had a lucky escape on Wednesday after a 4x4 vehicle parked up in a street just off Plaza Amparo Guerrero suffered brake failure and rolled down from a height of two metres onto the restaurants terrace.

The unoccupied vehicle caused a significant amount of damage, crashing into the tables and chairs laid out on the terrace, and also left some of the surrounding houses without electricity for some time.

Fortunately nobody was harmed as there were no pedestrians on that part of the pavement at the time and the customers occupying the tables had paid their bill and left a few minutes earlier.

Onlookers were shocked but nobody needed treatment after the incident.

The damaged vehicle was later removed by a tow truck.
