Termite infestation wreaks havoc in oldest court building in Torremolinos

  • The insects have reached the archives and left many of the records irrecoverable

A plague of termites has worsened the state of the courts in Torremolinos, with leaks and stains of damp already in the buildings. The termites have wreaked havoc in the oldest of the court buildings, which houses courts one, two, three and four as well as the register office.

Those working at the courts have lamented the fact that the insects have reached the archives and that as a result most of the records are now in a state which makes it almost impossible to recover them.

The problem led the chief judge to send an email to the regional government as well as other legal bodies to reiterate the need to spray insecticide on the affected areas, which until now have only been swept.
