Cudeca will be celebrating the fifteenth edition of its popular Walkathon on Sunday 21 May. The fundraising walk will consist of three routes. The main ten kilometre walk will begin at 10.30am, whereas the two and five kilometre walks will start at 11.30am.

Registration for the Walkathon, which will begin on the promenade in front of the Sunset Beach Club Hotel in Benalmádena Costa, can be made on the Cudeca website until Friday 19 May, although people may still register on the day of the event. A registration fee of ten euros (12 euros on the day) will be charged to each participant. There is a reduced fee of six euros for children and a special family pack, which admits both parents and two children and is available for 20 euros.

The fee includes a T-shirt, refreshments and a free ticket for the grand raffle. The top prize is a one-week holiday in Portugal, courtesy of Diamond Resorts International. Other prizes include a two-night break in Ireland, a medical checkup at the Vithas Xanit Hospital, free entry to Selwo Marina and Selwo Adventure parks and four free tickets for the cable-car in Benalmádena.

A special prize will be awarded for the highest amount raised in sponsorship money, as well as various other prizes for second and third place in both the adult and junior sections.

A celebration party will be held in the grounds of the Sunset Beach Club Hotel once the Walkathon is over. Participants and visitors can enjoy live music, childrens activities and a charity paella.

The event is sponsored by numerous organisations and local businesses, including Talk Radio Europe and SUR in English.
