Councils sign agreement with animal groups

The Mancomunidad de Municipios de la Axarquía, which oversees the work of the town halls in the area, signed an agreement with a number of local animal organisations last Friday to work together to raise awareness of animal abuse.

The Mancomunidad has offered its help and resources to organisations such as TAIL in Torrox and Apariv in Rincón de la Victoria, to run educational campaigns to reduce the number of abandoned animals and those that are put down unnecessarily. Councillor María Santana said, this is the first step in stopping animals from being put down.
