Tractor driver survives 30-metre fall

A resident of Sayalonga was injured when the small tractor he was driving fell 30 metres down a hill from a tarmacked road near to the towns municipal swimming pool. The incident happened at around 4.50pm on Tuesday. Mayor of Sayalonga, Antonio Jesús Pérez, confirmed that the tractor driver, who has not been identified, remained conscious throughout the rescue operation, to which local fire officers attended. The cause of the accident remains unknown.
