On Tuesday, a team from the Malaga provincial government ordered the withdrawal of the concession that allows the Museo Taurino, the citys bullfighting museum, to be housed in a building in the Plaza del Siglo, within the next fortnight.
The decision came after Juan Barco, a businessman from Extremadura and manager of the museum, failed to pay the annual fee for the past two years to the provincial authority, which in return provided the site for the museum.
The spokesperson for the Partido Popular, Francisca Caracuel, also announced that the government will keep the deposit of more than 150,000 euros that was paid at the beginning of the project, which will be used to pay back some of the money owed.
The provincial government has not yet decided what to do with the building, although a new cultural use for it is expected.
