A Malaga court has upheld earlier judgements that four well-known petrol stations in Marbella were built with illegal planning permission granted in 1995 and 1996 when Jesús Gil was mayor. The stations affected are by Marbella bus station, in Nagüeles, in Cabopino and by the Marbella arch. All were built on land designated for non-industrial use in the town plan at the time. The lawyer who first brought the case in 2000 has asked for the other legally-built petrol stations in the town to be compensated.
