Two Spanish men, aged 30 and 33, have been detained for their involvement in a supermarket holdup which took place in Marbella on 8 February.
According to investigators, one of the men entered the shop, on Avenida Girasoles, and threatened a cashier with a pistol before making off with 880 euros while his accomplice kept watch outside and orchestrated their flight from the scene by car.
The pair were tracked down to a hostel in Benalmádena and await trial.
Meanwhile, the National Police continue to search for man who held up a jewellers in Puerto Banús last Thursday evening. The man, apparently acting alone, entered Diamonds & Co., surrounded by other luxury shops in the port area, armed with a firearm.
After a scuffle with a member of staff, who suffered minor injuries, he was able to escape with a haul whose value is as yet unknown.
This incident has intensified calls from business owners for video surveillance in the area .
