Two of the Costa's main beach resorts can continue to open their shops for business on Sundays and holidays during the summer and over Easter. The Junta de Andalucía has agreed to Estepona's and Benalmádena's requests to renew the special permits that are granted every four years to towns that receive a large number of tourists. The permission runs over the 'Semana Santa' celebrations and from 1 July to 15 September until 2020. During that time businesses are free to determine their own opening times. Other areas of the Costa that rely on these 'important tourist zone' designations to boost income from visitors are: Fuengirola, small areas of Malaga city, Manilva, Marbella, Mijas, Nerja, Rincón de la Victoria and Torremolinos.
