Unfinished and closed, the building that was going to house the municipal museum in Torremolinos cuts a desolate figure in the Plaza Picasso. Despite costing around five million euros, the building continues unused.

The intention of former mayor Pedro Fernández Montes, had been to inaugurate the museum in the summer of 2015, a plan cut short by the electoral blow to the Partido Popular, which lost its overall majority for the first time in 20 years.

It was suggested that the building could house the courts but, it was deemed too small for the purpose. As such, six years and five million euros later, the building remains empty.
