PP demands action over "sporadic" dumping sites

  • New dumping sites have been increasing exponentially around Marbella, according to PP councillor Carlos Alcalá

Ever since the rubbish tip on the Carretera de Ojén closed over nine months ago, new dumping sites have been increasing exponentially around Marbella, according to PP councillor Carlos Alcalá. His party, in opposition, is drawing up a map to demonstrate the scale of the problem and to urge the ruling PSOE to accelerate the construction of a new official tip.

For his part, Miguel Díaz, councillor responsible for Sustainability, announced on Tuesday, following Alcalá's statement, that the town hall were working to reopen the old dumping site but that they would have to wait until they received "all of the necessary legal and environmental guarantees".
