The British Chamber of Commerce (Andalucía) has always been known for its networking and social events and these have been sorely missed by members over the last fifteen months.
There was a certain buzz, therefore, last Thursday at the Andalucía Summer Cocktail held at the Los Naranjos Golf Club, Marbella. It was only the second face-to-face event in 2021 and members were eager to network, mingle and catch up after such a long time apart.
Before the cocktail, an elite team of expert golfers faced off in a Texas Scramble. According to the caddy master, the level of golf displayed "defied description".
Following the debacle on the golf course, drinks and vegan tapas were served, sponsored by Spence Clarke Chartered Accountants, one of the British Chamber of Commerce's longest-standing members.
During the evening, Regional Vice-President Derek Langley thanked all members for attending the event and promised more meetings and networking opportunities following the summer break.
Susan Spence Clarke then took to the stage and presented the team behind Spence Clarke Chartered Accountants.
Finally, Ken Lingwood, Los Naranjos Golf Members Relations Director, announced the winners of the Texas Scramble, which seemed to be judged more on effort than actual golf prowess.
The British Chamber of Commerce will be offering an Autumn Cocktail in October and will announce more events via its webpage: www.britishchamberspain.com in September.
