A Marbella-based Brit is celebrating after publishing his third book - called The Hotel Manager.

Garry Waite, who has lived in Spain since 1986, recently promoted his latest publication at a book signing in Puerto Banús, Marbella.

Since semi-retiring in 2017, the Cheltenham-born former restaurateur has concentrated on his writing and now has several books to his name, including a novel, The Warm War, a thriller based on the Costa del Sol, and an autobiography, Half My Life, following his years before Spain and after his arrival.

His latest book is a fictitious thriller and follows the lives of a family who develop a wine business, who go into partnership with the owner of a hotel in Monte Carlo during World War II.

One hundred years

He said: "I hope I have captured the atmosphere that existed during this time and that you will find the journey that some of our protagonists took, over a period of more than one hundred years, up until the years of the 2000s, interesting and heart-warming."

The book is available on Amazon, at Bookworld España and at Book Shop in San Pedro for 15 euros.
