On the 26 and 27 February, a virtual project will take place in which participants will recreate famous Malaga landmarks in the world of the popular video game, Minecraft.
Players will cooperate to build sites such as the Roman theatre, Plaza de la Merced and Muelle Uno.
The event has been organised by the local council, in conjunction with Campus Tecnológico EVAD. It will be hosted by a popular Malaga-based online gamer, known as Luh, via his channel on the streaming site Twitch.
Organisers hope that participants will not only put their creativity to the test but will also learn more about the history behind the city as they build.
The event will take place between 4pm and 6pm on both of the days. Players will need to have installed Minecraft Java Edition onto their computer in order to take part. During the project, Zoom will be used as the communication between those taking part.
Participants will have to wait until all players have joined the server and are aware of the rules before beginning the project. They will have to agree to a set of rules, including to cooperate and communicate among themselves to complete the project. Each player will be granted a designated area in which to build their contribution.
