More details have been released this week about the Cudeca Walkahome which will take place this Saturday, 9 May, between 10am and 8pm.
As part of its #CaringTogether campaign, the cancer charity was due to host its annual Walkathon later this month. However, due to the nationwide lockdown restrictions, the fundraising event will now take place online with participants invited to take part in any form of physical activity in their home that best suits their physical condition and the space available to them.
This can include walking around the garden or living space, skipping, dancing, climbing stairs (in non-communal areas), doing squats, or swimming (for those who have their own pool).
Entertainment will also be laid on throughout the day, including various group activities (including a warm-up and stretching, yoga and Zumba classes) on the Fundación Cudeca YouTube channel from 10 am.
From 4pm, a broad selection of entertainment will start, including concerts, artistic perfomances, magic shows and cookery. Among those already confirmed are El Parque de Motty, Luis Miguel Mesa Mago Luigi, chef José Carlos García, Tarifa Plana, Lee Townsend, Joe Eceiza, PopFm, Kassia, David Sanz, Free Soul Band, tenor Rodrigo Orrego, pianist Cristina Alba Padial, Javier Ojeda and Dry Martina.
Those who wish to participate can register through the Cudeca and Dorsalchip websites with a minimum donation of two euros. Each person will be assigned a bib number that will be entered into a free prize draw.
Everyone is encourage to share photos and videos of their activities on social networks with the hashtags #CudecaWalkahome and #Cudeca.
