Chef Juanjo Carmona has left to embark on two new projects in La Deriva

A little over three years ago Juanjo Carmona (right) arrived at El Lago in Marbella to take charge of the kitchen which already had one Michelin star.

Last weekend he left to embark on two new projects in La Deriva, just a short distance away.

Director Paco García (left) will be sad to see him go but it is the start of a new era for the restaurant which is celebrating its twentieth anniversary this year. Carmona will be replaced by Fernando Villasclaras.
