Members of an international choir are celebrating after raising 1,500 euros for charity at a concert in Estepona earlier this month.

The concert was organised by the Love to Sing Choir and was in aid of local girl Sarah Almagro, who lost her feet and hands to a lethal bacteria in July last year.

Around 200 people attended the fundraiser at the Centro Cultural Padre Manuel, which featured songs from popular Broadway musicals and Hollywood films including Chicago, Guys and Dolls and Skyfall.

Shirley Helleur, the choir's musical director, told SUR in English: "It was a great night for the choir. We had been working on this programme for months so it was a real pleasure to perform for such a warm and appreciative audience. We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience."

The money raised on the night will help buy prosthetic limbs for Sarah.

The Manilva based choir was founded in September 2017 and performs concerts along the coast, raising thousands of euros for local charities.

More information about the choir can be found on their Facebook page @Love2SingCDS
