After conquering the US, the poke bowl has come to Europe. This exotic-looking Hawaiian food is really quite simple in terms of ingredients: rice, raw marinated fish and soy sauce. These three ingredients form the basis of the fashionable dish ideal for aspirants of a healthy life.

In Hawaii, the poke bowl is a starter or main dish and can be prepared using a variety of different foods. Many of the ingredients are the same that are used to make sushi and are influenced by Japanese cuisine.

On top of a base of rice is placed fish, normally salmon or tuna, then vegetables such as edamame beans, carrot, radish and cucumber. Ginger, seaweed and even slices of fruit are also added and a sauce, usually soy, is sprinkled over to add flavour.
