The Age Care Association of the Costa del Sol has sponsored a brand new Volkswagen Polo to the Cudeca Foundation. The car, which will be used by the cancer charity's home care teams, was presented to Cudeca founder, Joan Hunt, in Benalmádena on Monday.

The ceremony was attended by members of Cudeca and Age Care president, Syd Weldon.

"We have a good liaison with Cudeca: they have the expertise and we can raise money to help them continue their good work," Weldon told SUR in English.

The Mijas-based Age Care Association, which was founded in 2001, has been supporting Cudeca for several years.

The Cudeca care teams now have seven cars and these are used to make home visits to those who choose to end their days at home and those who live in remote areas. Each care team visits an average of 250 patients, while collectively they serve more than 1,400 patients throughout the province of Malaga each year.

Joan Hunt said, "I want to say how grateful we are to Age Care, because this is a wonderful gift and it will help our care teams to continue reaching people in their homes."
