An event that started as a way to promote the huge variety and quality of the gastronomy available in Fuengirola has now been running for ten years. This year the Ruta de la Tapa Erótica (Erotic Tapa Route), will begin on 1 November and continue until 18 November. It is an opportunity for Fuengirola "to show its more sensual side", according to the mayor, Ana Mula.
This year 72 establishments around the town will be taking part. For 2.50 euros, diners will be able to enjoy an exotic and fun tapa created especially for the occasion, and a drink.
To make the event more accessible to people with special dietary requirements, many of the bars and restaurants will be offering vegetarian, lactose and gluten free alternatives.Information about the event which gives a boost to local businesses at a time of year when many of the visitors have returned home, are available from the town hall.
