Tony Burns, chairman of the Spain South District of the Royal British Legion (RBL) urged the expat community to support the many acts of Remembrance across southern Spain over the weekend of 10 to 11 November, at the recent launch of the 2018 Poppy Appeal.

He said: "Even if there is not an event near you you can still take part in the symbolic act of Remembrance by encouraging your local bar to show TV coverage or even invite friends around to watch it with you at home."

You can contact your nearest branch via the district website (www.britishlegion.org.uk/counties/spainsouth) for information about the nearest event to you.

The launch at the Tamisa Golf hotel, attended by fifty members from across the district, raised over 700 euros to kickstart this year's appeal.
