Malaga joins Rincón in celebrating the famous boquerón

The annual Fiesta del Boquerón Victoriano takes place this weekend

Between 22 and 23 September, a group of restaurants in Malaga city will be honouring the coast's most famous fish, the fresh anchovy (boquerón) to coincide with the annual Fiesta del Boquerón Victoriano in Rincón de la Victoria.

The group, created especially for the event, is located in Rincón de la Victoria and Malaga and will be promoting the gastronomic attributes of this humble little fish.

Restaurants La Jareña, La Chalaúra, Batalla del Salado, La Cañita, Restaurante El Castillo, Leche y Miel and 7 Olas in Rincón de la Victoria; and El Pimpi, Los Patios de Beatas, Restaurante Cávea, Eboka, Almijara Casual Bar, El Merendero, La Barra, Aire Gastrobar, La Antxoeta, Lígula Restaurante, Niña Bonita, La Alvaroteca, Alea Restaurante, Wendy Gamba and Le Diner Vincci Selección Posada del Patio in Malaga city, will include up to 25 different dishes with anchovies as the main ingredient on their menus.

Today (Friday 21 September) at around 8.30pm, top chef Diego Gallegos (known as the 'caviar chef') from Michelin-starred Sollo restaurant in Benalmádena, will be speaking at a conference in the patio of Rincón de la Victoria town hall.

He will be followed at 9pm by chef Diego René López Andújar (Restaurante Lacaliza) who will be show cooking anchovies.
