Syd Weldon, president of Age Care; Tom Tarr, vice-president; Lesley Berridge, Welfare Leader at Calahonda and David Donaldson from Medicare, visited the AFA Fuengirola - Mijas Costa centre recently. They took with them a cheque for 1,050 euros raised by Age Care, which was presented to the director of the centre, Rocio Segoria Lebron, by Age Care president, Syd Weldon and social worker Africa Fontcuberta Ramirez.

AFA Fuengirola- Mijas Costa is a self funding charity that supports families caring for elderly people with Alzheimer's disease and dementia providing psychological and social support. They arrange activities to help with memory, language, orientation, attention, calculation and perception as well as offering respite care for the families. They also supply a transport service, home help and day centre.

Age Care Association is run entirely by volunteers and has links with several charities which help the elderly.

The Age Care charity shop is in El Zoco, Calahonda. They welcome donations and at the moment desperately need books.
